Walking is the biggest task as the car will stop atleast 3km before then the actual point as result of snow and intense ice formation. Better hire local driver to reach as upper as possible ..500 per person chair lift..rope way closes ma by 12in afternoon and last option will be chair lift.

The chairlift was a life saviour for me. Since the ropeway was full I had to travel to Auli and then depend on the chairlift. Thankfully it was open and I could go towards the Top. It costs Rs. 500 per person I would suggest to go by chairlift instead of ropeway because of the scintillating experience you will get in this ride unlike the ropeway. PS: During extreme winters roads to the chairlift are closed so check the situation and then decide.
Once in a lifetime experience. I really enjoyed the ride. I got a chance to visit here on New Year. It was scary at first but was worth taking risk. Got a really spectacular view to the frozen Auli Laga Salude Lake (i.e., the artificial lake of Auli). Not suitable for people with infants, kids under 5yrs age and people with acrophobia. Proper guidance should be followed along the ride.
It was good, it takes around 500 charge for round trip from auli ski resort to auli lake point and its timing is around 9:30 to 4:30, so you can go and watch auli lake thrn you can also go further for next rope way point and then you go for trek but you have to start early in the morning. To reach here either you can take ropeway in 1000rs from joshimath or you can come by road.
Awesome Views and Thrill experience. 300 per person going and return.
