The trek to the hill fort is quite challenging, but the historical monuments are wonderful specimens of art and architecture and interest in these monuments enhance further after visiting. The Badal Mahal, which starts to appear from a long distance, is built on the highest part of the mountain. And this palace is an absolute attraction among all tourists. This magnificent palace was built in this inaccessible place by Maharana Fateh Singh Ji in the nineteenth century. This palace is a symbol of art architecture and Rajasthani culture. This palace is divided into two parts. One part is for the royal ladies called Zanana and the other for men is Mardana. In the rainy season, clouds surround this palace as if hugging, a very thrilling sight. That is why this palace was named Badal Mahal. The magnificent very impressive interior room design and decoration, famous paintings like pictures of elephants fighting, birds etc. are worth seeing in different Rajasthani styles. The palace has arched verandahs, circular balconies having decorated archways and square rooms. Square courtyard in each part and ornate umbrella in the courtyard whose roof is very attractive almost hip roof. The Aravali scenes from this umbrella are very charming and delightful. There are narrow steps to access the roof. The view of Kumbhalgarh from the terrace is amazing. The outer two corners have towers similar to the octagonal bastions with beautiful domes on the top. Stone overhangs supported by decorated stone brackets at important places to protect from the rain water. Zanana section is having stone lattice so Royal ladies were able to watch the court activities. One section is closed but visitors can go to the terrace. It's a major attraction among the history buffs, art and architecture lovers, nature and culture lovers, trekkers etc.

Nadal Mahal was excellent. Only ladies section is open for public. Queen's quater were good. From top sunset looks beautiful. Also entire Arawali range is visible. Beyond that Mevat region starts.

Badal Mahal, when the rainy season or clouds come to this palace, the palace is not visible. Hence it is called Badal Mahal.
