A must visit place if you're are trek or history freak.opens around 8am timings may vary with respect to week days and weekends.if you completely explore it will take 2 hours even more but we took 2 hours. Good to visit either early morning or evenings you won't exposed to sun. There are maximum steps to climb except at some places. Places is totally covered by mountain to rocks and green vegetation.you will find the great history behind its construction and how they executed it strategically to tackle enemies. You can have a view covering whole bellari.it costs around 20 Rs for Indians and 300 Rs for foreigners. A wide stretched outer line with fort inside it. It is very peaceful in mornings to visit. There will be no food or water outlets at top,so carry or buy before starting.

One of the best preserved forts in Karnataka! The fort has security guards which make sure no one litters or misbehaves on the fort and also that people stick to the time. Fort opens at 0830 am and closes at 0530 pm. Entry fee is Rs25/- However they charge Rs 100 for camera and do not provide receipt for it. We had to fight and argue after which they gave us in written on a paper with sign and stamp. Karnataka Archaeological Dept should look into this. Behind the booking office is a cooler which provides clean water for drinking! The fort itself is an engineering marvel. Historically this region has experienced various Dynasties like Mauryas, Pallavas, Kadambas, Kalyani Chalukyas, Hoysals etc. Fort was built by Hanumappa Nayak who was a feudatory of Vijaynagar Empire. Later Nayaks became feudatories of Adilshahs and then Haider. Haider Ali rebuilt the fort with the help of French Engineers. This fort is a must visit for all history lovers and architecture students!!
Nice place to visit. The place at the foot of hill is well-maintained. But at the top in fort is not maintained, the grass has grown tall. The view from the top is something satisfies us once we reach in the fort.
Good place to visit with friends and family. Please do carry your water bottle as there are no stores or any kind of a water supply on the mountain.
A good place to visit , entrance area well maintained and top of the fort is poorly maintained. Recommended to go as a group, not recommended for people's with knee pain and breathing difficulties. Bring filled water bottles as there are no shops at the top.
We can get most beautiful view of ballari from here...
Beautiful hill top fort that I have seen.
Bellary fort was built in 18th century it's a gigantic single stone hill in karnataka and Asia's second biggest monolith. Google abt it for more info one will definitely visit.
