Location is great, view is nice. But the place is too dirty with plastics everywhere. needs much better maintainance.

How to reach at Sabuj Deep in West Bengal You can take Katoa local from Howrah or Sealdah or Bandel station from Kolkata. Reach Balagarh or Somrabazar station. From there take van and reach Sukhriyagram pherighat. From there take motor driven country boat available to reach Sabuj Deep. The only Katoa local leaves sealdah station at 8.04 in the morning.
Sobuj Dweep is an attractive picnic spot in Hooghly, West Bengal. It's a small green island in the middle of river ganga. The place actually is in Somra Bazar but You can also visit from Balagarh station. Take any Howrah - Katwa local. reach balagarh or somra station, from there take van or toto. Rs. 15 - 20 only Coming to the island - Lots of trees are there like pine, palm, eucalyptus, Mahogony and other trees. The picnic spot hosts a children's park, flower garden, restaurant and a view from tower. Various kinds of birds are there especially in winter, You can also go for a boat ride in the river. The work is going on here - lots of new cottages are building by state tourism. As, I am a local resident here I'm pointing out some details that may help you. The ferry charge is almost Rs. 20-30 per head. though some will tell 50-100. bargain You can get room near sabuj dweep Jeti almost Rs. 1000-1500 price may vary time to time. You can also book cottage in sobuj dweep once the work is finished. as some people will always there to charge you high. so, bargain and try to find other options. especially when booking a boat. The place is open from approximately 8.00 A.M to 6.00 P.M Winter season is the peak season here like 26th, 1st January...so charges may vary 2-3 times more. off season vice versa. Hope this helps.
