Chandigarh War Memorial was built by the Indian Express group at a cost of Rs 70 lakh in memory of 8,500 martyrs belonging to Punjab, Haryan, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh. It is a semi-circular structure with the names of the martyrs etched on its black granite & has a 22 foot sculpture at the centre

A place of historical importance and where we can offer our gratitude to those who laid down their lives so that we could live. The unique architecture of the monument at the centre attracts everyone. The stone slabs have names of martyrs from Punjab, Haryana, UP and Himachal Pradesh engraved on them. The names are from various wars from pre-Independence to wars India fought after independence too. A must visit if in Chandigarh.
