One of the best places for a quick hike up the hill. The trek begins with boulders and then once you get to the hill there are steps made to go up the hill. On top of the hill there is a Shiva temple. On the way up there are few statues of different gods. The stairs are a little scary once you go up. At one point it gets pitch dark even during the afternoon. Only one person can climb up the stair at a time. It's 20 km from Chittoor, 50 km from Tirupati and 180 kms from Bangalore. Ideal for a one day trip. There is also a temple at the Foothills where you can even camp at night.

Firstly I think AP tourism lacked to publicize it well. Because I live nearby it and haven't heard a word about it, i just founded it by pure luck as I lost my way while returning from Tirupati. Now coming to review of it, there are two ways to climb it. First is dirt road up bottom of mountain (but at places, it got damaged due to rainy water flow). It is the longer route but has gradual ascend compare to second route. The ways is pretty sunlit untill you find your way inside the rock, there at places it gets pitch dark(use cell phone torch) and one must be mindful of sudden bats appearances as it can startle you and upset your mojo. Here the last 40% of the ascend is through rock and pretty steep compare to earlier part. Second just goes up from the middle of two rocks, it not adviced to climb it from here as it needs maintainance on steps and way to steps from start is also not in good condition. This way is pretty visible for the most part as one has to ascend between the rocks, however the last 25% climb is through the rock which doesn't get proper sunlight(although one can always make use of cell phone torch). It is advised to ascend and descend through first route as it involves gradual ascend and the way is properly maintained. Second ways is seems to be earliest route, which had been discarded with time and not actively maintained now. The first route at most part has iron railings for climb support, however at some places there isn't enough space to accommodate it. So you've to manage without it. After reaching top, there a is small shiva temple, where you can sit and enjoy the views all around. Further to get to second rock there is iron bridge, which you've to cross and see the national flag in full glory. Overall if you're adventurous and love outdoors with climbing involved, you'll love it.

A good and thrilling experience while climbing the steps that are in between two hills. There is an iron staircase where only one person can walk(up/down). The temple is under construction.
