Chittorgarh, India
Sinchai Colony, Pratap Nagar
N/A
This monument stands in tribute to Maharana Pratap Singh, the King of Merwar best known for losing and regaining Chittaurgarh from the Mughals. The monument is an equestrian statue depicting the king on his warhorse, Chetak. Pratap is depicted as being dressed for war, outfitted in armour, a round shield and a lance which he is holding upright. The statue stands in Pratap Park, about 15 minutes walk north of Chittaurgarh railway statue. Not a must-see, but worth a look as it’s located in a well kept park and it’s something to see in the city besides the fort.
