The management of the wildlife sanctuary is done by the Uttarakhand Forest department. The Divisional Forest Officer(DFO) Kedarnath Wildlife Division is responsible for scientific management of the wildlife sanctuary as per the approved management plan. The headquarter of Kedarnath Wildlife Division is located at Gopeshwar, District Chamoli. The permission of trekking, camping or conducting scientific study inside the sanctuary is provided by DFO Kedarnath. Wildlife Division. A captive breeding centre was set up in Kharachula Kharak inside the sanctuary. This helped in increasing the population of the musk deer. However, it was not that successful as the deer died for different reasons like climatic conditions, mortality rates and infections. So, one musk deer was relocated to Darjeeling Zoo. Fortunately, some musk deer are said to be roaming around in the sanctuary in recent times. This has given a relief to the wildlife conservationists who feared that it has disappeared completely.
Known for its rich floral species, Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Chamoli and Rudraprayag district of Garhwal region in the state of Uttarakhand. Wonderful Forest Officials they very much honest and cooperative.
