This historical monument used to be served as eastern gateway to enter the Gour fort, old capital of Bengal Sultanate between 13th and 16th century. Presently under preservation of Archeological Survey of India it is one of the well maintained sites at Gour. It showcases coloured tiles from and elaborate Islamic architecture. Depending on it's historical value, more scientific maintenance is required

Standing to the north\u00adeast of the Chika Mosque, the Gumti Darwaza was built in 1512 by Allauddin Hussein Shah. Made of brick and terracotta, the once brilliant colours woven into the artwork are still partly visible. It is said that real gold was used in the decorations.
