Yatim Khana Islamia or Muslim Orphanage is one of the premier and reputed residential place in northern India which was established by some rich muslim merchants in late nineteenth century. One can see at the forehead of the gigantic gate of this orphanage the old spelling of Kanpur written as CAWNPORE as it was established in 1894 in British period. It houses only the Orphans (fatherless destitute muslim children only. It is considered to be one of the best place for orphans in northern India. Presently it is managed by a board of members and it does not accepts government grants whatsoever and depends solely on the contribution of funds by Mohammedans
