First it's a pride to see such monuments. When you enter the ship they show the video of features of Indian Navy. Then we can see the actual inside of the ship, the dress code of various cadres in the navy, various cadres room, engine room, control room, various missile bay, etc. Had a nice experience and was very informative. Entry fee is also very less rupees 15 for adults and rupees 10 for children. Had a great informative session. A must and worth visiting.

Newly constructed war museum is a nice place on the highway 66 and and the bank of Rabindranath Tagore beach of karwar. This 38.6 metre long warship Chapal was decommissioned in the year 2005. The entry fee of 30/- is worth for having a glance to this warship. The adjoining garden area is also maintained well. The only suggestion would be to post a trained sailor so that he can explain in details.

Good place to visit for an hour to get a glimpse of interiors of a warship which has historical significance. The interiors of the warship are still intact and well maintained along with few original pictures from the warships active service.

It is an old warship converted as a museum. Open on all days. We visited this on a Sunday around 11.00 am. You can find informative posters regarding the Naval ships owned by INS. Also, you can enter the ship and find models of Captain and crew members, their workstations. The INS Chapal is not big as the present day warship but worth visiting if you are interested in ships. No parking facility available but you can park your vehicle roadside. Washrooms were not clean.

No parking but not a big deal can park near the beach. Not maintained properly. Instead of being a museum it's a scrap. Friendly staff. Hope govt will make this place more memorable and hopefully more tourist will flow in future. Pictures displayed are good great information. but it will be fading away soon.
