An interesting place to come and learn about shadow puppetry from an authentic source. Recommend spending a decent amount of time as there is much involved in making puppet performances in this living traditional style. Despite what the company might say. Times the time they say it will take by 2 ( at least). I felt we were left to our own devices a lot. Which is okay as we are already puppet makers but we were told we would receive teaching, which I don't think we really did. Excellent hospitality though and we felt most welcomed into the family environment.

In this Kalakendram, I met two of the most humble and renowned artists in this world. Their humility and enthusiasm to sustain the artform is truly inspiring. One should definitely visit this place if they ever visit Shornur. The puppets are really beautiful and the artform is truly breathtaking.I really enjoyed vising this place, it should be on everyone's must visit list.
