Kalachanda is the junction where Meenàdam-Pampady Road meets KK Road NH 163. One upon a time there was a Chanda-market place for cattles (Kaala-bull), therefore it is called Kalachanda. Myself had first hand experience in this place where I also went to sell our cow and calf. It was about 50 years ago. Now there is no Kaala or Chanda, but a bar, Dream Land opened here after Corona lockdown. There is a hypermarket, big electronics and utility item store in Kalachanda. Orthodox St. John's Church and Malankara catholic Church is also located nearby. There is bus stop and proposed to build a park here. Every item, including vegetables, pulthy fish and all house hold items available here and nearby Pampady market. But very congested with traffic. Myself is living in this area.

This is only a small area, forming part of Pampady where the cattle market was held periodically. Pampady is a well developed place with respect to the shops and establishments.
