This is also one of the least known natural adventure. Wilderness of this sanctuary chills my nerves.

Adventures tough trek.. the view wasn't worth the effort. Would rather suggest Thadyiandamol trek.

Awesome place to visit but via a jeep only you will love the nature and the mesmerizing views . It's a plastic free zone

Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is located near Mandalpatti in Somwarpet taluk of Coorg district. It is recognized as an area exclusive to rare and exotic birds along with other species of flora and fauna specific to this region. The Kadamakal Reserve Forest is an integral part of the sanctuary with Pushpagiri being the highest peak in it. Kumara Parvatha is the other peak that lies within it. The sanctuary is strategically located with Bisle reserve forest to the north and Kukke Subramanya forest range to the west. The rolling Shola grasslands specific to the Western Ghats, beautiful valleys and meadows, swamps and quaint water bodies create magic in this area. One can spot a variety of animals like the Indian hare, spotted deer, giant flying squirrel, otters, Indian wild dog, brown palm civet, wild pig, stripe-necked mongoose, sambar, elephants, gaur, mouse deer, etc. Primates like common langur, lion-tailed macaque, and bonnet macaque can also be spotted easily. Trekkers here enjoy a day-long trek across the lush terrain crisscrossing the easy and not so easy trails.

The Pushpagiri wildlife sanctuary is a good spot for trekking but there were no guides available so we had to complete the trek on our own. The forest is pretty dense and we spotted quite a few birds while trekking. It is situated in Mandalpatti. Couldn’t see any animal so much fog was there. The bullet ride was really awesome. Thank you . . . .

Nature at its best. Lush green forest. Easily trek-able. The forest is full of leeches, especially if you are passing in the morning time. Leeches will be less visible while the sun is overhead. Recommended to wear flipflops, shorts and half sleeves shirt. Carry around half kg salt to sprinkle over leeches if they crawl over you. The forest guards will try to extort some money from you.
