The ticket rates have gone up sky rocket from 150 to 450. The reason they quote is COVID. And they say they are promoting tourism. How sad.
It was good and timings are there for boating. U will get bus from thekkadi near thekkady medows hotel with 100/ rs per person entry ticket included in periyar national park then u have to take ticket for boating 385/ per person. Location is good and it's a good 2 hrs boating in which don't go with much expectations to see animals. I saw elephants. Biason. Dear. Bohr etc in 1:45 pm boat. And please take binoculars with u if possible

Good place to visit and boat ride is aswome experience
This is the Thekkady Tiger Reserve bus boarding plac. No private vehicles or taxis are allowed beyond the Forest check post. So one has to park his/her vehicle here (paid parking)and buy the bus ticket from the ticketing office for transport upto the boat landing area. Tickets for some of the walking treks and bamboo rafting are issued here and the departing point is the nearby interpretation centre.
Welcome centre of Thekkady. Nice dealings from staffs. Sight is enriched by the beauty of nature. Trecking in buffer zone forest was awesome. Good parking Facilities etc..
Beautiful boating experience and if you are lucky weather will make it even better.
