Good place for a quick one day visit. The view from the top is breath taking and the main attraction is the monolith. Place needs to be kept clean as there were many plastic bottles thrown all over.

The main attraction here is the monolith...how ever trekking to that point is prohibited from the main entrance..but if you are adventures enough there is a local route which you can take to reach much closer to the monolith than the main route(I didn't trek that ,heard about it from people and also saw people trekking that from a distance..)...the entry fee, parking and jeep fare cost you about Rs 72. Usually not too crowded in the mornings....

Good location for a one day trip along with family and friends. Road is not in good condition not sure whether it's repaired now. But the place has an amazing view. The view from the top is just awesome.

The main attraction about this place is not just about seeing Illikkal Kallu, but the route arranged by government to reach the top area on the mountain just near to our Kallu is good and helpfull for all ages. They can climb to the top by holding on to the rails. I loved this place because it was close to Kottayam and few years back when we came here this spot was so adventurous because of the risk of climbing and because of that less people could do it. I don’t blame anyone because everyone from age 1-100 got an adventurous heart inside them, I know that because I saw a grandma climbing to the top with her grand children’s. She had some difficulty but in the end the smile on her face was really warming. Any way for me the next special thing is, there are many routes to trek which got no rails to block us. This was a free spot for tourist attraction, but now we have to pay 20/per head and another for parking. This has to be stopped. What is the need of paying money here? Government did the rail project from the gov fund right? So what is the use of taking money from us? Hopefully this will come to an end soon. Drop a love for the description.

It's a nice place. Morning and Evening are the ideal time to visit. Note: Visitors pls try not to throw any sort of waste here and there, use the waste bin. We must keep mother nature clean and neat. Be a responsible traveller. Enjoy the place . Live free, Travel far...@tollfreetraveller

Really pretty place with beautiful views. You can either take a jeep ride or walk to the top. There are hand rails fitted near the top for safety and to help in climbing. Toilets available near the car park and some small shops that sells food items. Friendly staff and the place was quite well maintained. Around 40rs for jeep ride per person.(depends)

the plan must be to reach the gate by 5am. park the vehicle by the roadside and start walking. 30mins uphill will take you to the peak. Keep quiet. listen to the nature waking up to a beautiful day. please carry water but do not litter.
