It is part of the Bai Sakarbai Animal Hospital. This is probably the largest and best equipped Animal Hospital in Mumbai and is part of the BSPCA. It is a huge area which is exceptionally well maintained with friendly and courteous staff. It is not a modern hospital but has a very Govt. Hospital feel to it. But unfortunately they are NOT funded by the Govt in any way and rely solely on donations and community support. They are well equipped to handle any and all kinds of birds and animals, and carry out amazing humanitarian work for abandoned and stray animals. They have birthing sections, diagnostics, surgery room, boarding and a crematorium. Their charges are also not exorbitant. At any given time this place is choc-a-bloc with injured, abandoned and stray animals of any age (new borns to seniors), and your heart will really go out to these dear creatures. But they are not neglected nor mistreated by the staff. Their living quarters are cleaned regularly and they are all fed as per a schedule. But a beautiful and humane place like this is always in need of donations (cash or kind) and volunteers. So pls help them carry out their noble work!
