Take your morning or evening stroll through the lake banks. A J-shaped lake covering over 150 hectares. This was built by the Wodeyars as a source of water for irrigation outside the city premises. The encroachments resulted in the repeated depletion. However the University of Mysore and various other communities have come forward for its preservation. One can have a silent walk through the periphery of the lake through the 4.5 kms outer radius. There is a lot of people around. Its relatively safe due to this. There is a park outside for the kids to play.

Good place to relax,walk,jogging for all aged persons. Its an 3.5 km distance if you cover it either by walk or jogging. Inside boating is there but it has been suspended due to the crocodile tinglung inside the lake, its an home for chirping birds as well, its an Mysore University Place gave the permission to every human being to take care of there fitness. Low Light house is also there, parking for vehicles is a pluss point of this place inside & fish fry is sold here ehuch is tasty at its best. Must visit place for every human being.
A beautiful lake near Mysore University campus. Has a circular walkway of about 3 km. A home for various endangered birds and fish. Has a children play area. Generally crowded in the morning and evenings by joggers, walkers and fitness freak's.

125 acres of area belonging to university of Mysore. Lake is surrounded by track for walking/jogging that runs 3.6 kilometers long. It includes a park,plantation and groove alongside. Favourite of local fitness enthusiasts.
Not so crowded , has a great track to run on. Views are also very good
