According to traditional accounts of the Saint Thomas Christians of modern-day Kerala in India, Thomas is believed to have travelled outside the Roman Empire to preach the Gospel, travelling as far as the Malabar Coast which is in modern-day Kerala State, India. According to their tradition, Thomas reached Muziris (modern-day North Paravur and Kodungalloor in Kerala State, India) in AD 52. In 1258, some of the relics were brought to Ortana, in Abruzzo, Italy, where they have been held in the Church of Saint Thomas the Apostle. He is often regarded as the patron saint of India, and the name Thomas remains quite popular among Saint Thomas Christians of India.

St. Thomas Orthodox Church at Choottuveli area at Kottayam is located at the side of state highway. The Church is well renovated & maintained. But there is only limited Car parking area inside the Church compound.

St. Thomas orthodox church is located in Kottayam town of Kerala. The church is located in right-hand side of the road to Ettumanoor. Church is easily accessible to all and all the amenities are available here. Ample parking, prayer hall, small chapel and cemetery are also visible here. A best place to pray and offer your devotion.
One of the few centralised air conditioned churches in kerala. Situated at chavittuvary junction, on left side of popular maruti vehicles aka maruti arena, opposite to Indian Coffee House chavittuvary. Just attaching a pic drawn by me some years before.
Very crowded place. Traffic jam this place creates is too much.
