This fort is now a commercial place. You will find small shops on your way. There are safety grills now but you have to be very very careful during your trek as it will be very steep at some places. You can even camp at the top or stay at the temple (if you will be lucky enough to find a place)

Very beautiful fort.. it's huge and massive., To complete the fort u need minimum 3 days. Food can be arranged at the base village, Hotel Sanjeevni or at the summit near the temple. Carry Bottle of water as it can be tiring. Night camp can also be done here , it's very safe.

Great climb from the pali door. Not too difficult, could reach the pali door within an hour from the Car parking. A lot of history related to this place. Very nice place to visit for all sorts of trekkers and history lovers. The Balekilla climb is very tough and risky and little kids or elderly folks shouldn't be brought. The views are absolutely breathtaking. It is a huge fort so you won't finish exploring it all in a day, but there is the option of camping on top if you wish to explore all of it. Also there's not much food wise on top, so bring your own food. All in all, it's a very serene place and will keep you awestruck the entire time. Highly recommended.

It is aptly named as Raj-Gad, literaly meaning a King-Fort. Among all the forts conquered, built and reinstated by the great maratha warrior king Shivaji, this one was his Capital. Difficulty level - average/ medium Reach/ accessibility: easy by private transport best time to visit - any time of the year, avoid peak summers of course.

Best place for trekking with friends and family but you get exhausted easily so bring sufficient amount of water and food before going there.
