Swami Vivekananda’s house. He was born here. The building has been renovated and turned into museum. 30/person entry fee. Which includes museum visit, a person to guide you through the house and a 3D animated video of the great Chicago speech. Photography inside is prohibited. And need to keep your mobile silent.

Ancestorial house of swami Vivekananda. It has a museum where you can found the glimpses of the childhood of this great religious teacher. Behind the museum, there's also a center for learning foreign languages (German, french, Spanish, Sanskrit, Hindi) and computer learning center

Nice and easy way to learn about Vivekananda's childhood. This place is well maintained and it was great to know about how it was renovated after 1999. You have to leave your shoes outside before entering. The place was clean. All was good except the 3D movie. The organization took so much effort to renovate the house with so much money but the 3D movie they present is not an ideal viewing experience. In an almost 40 capacity medium sized private theatre, there is a meagre 45 inch TV showing a 3D animated movie of Swami. Request the org to use a projector instead which will give the viewers a real immersive experience, otherwise there is no point in showing a 3D movie in a small screen. A regular 2D movie would be enough.

Vivekanandas house. Now a museum and Ramakrishna mission cultural centre. Mondays closed. I've put a snap of the timings. Open nowadays.

A marvellous place to visit, Swami Vivekananda's ancestral house gives us an essence of the environment where Swamiji grew up...I suggest everyone to make a visit once...you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful place of Swami Vivekananda ancestral home. It was rebuilt on the pillars of his original ancestral house. Do watch the 3d movie aswell. If you seek peace this place is to go for.
