The best easy to Moderate Trek, Gives you mix feeling of Forest trek, rock climbing..etc, the fort is well maintained and there are many historical points in the fort where you can imagine how history has been written for this particular fort, Should start the trek early morning in Moon light. after climbing the steps you can rest and then climb the next part. The view from the top is mesmerising and satisfying the effort to climb till the top. There is a small pond and temple at the top. Can recommend to beginners, And Need to carry minimum of 2 litres of water, As in summer the water tanks in Fort are dried up and there is no other source of Water.

Sarasgad fort is situated near village pali in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. This fort is situated about 487 meters(1600 ft). Sarasgad fort is twin of sudhagad fort. The fort was used to watch and check surrounding region. The trek is moderately simple. However the steep slope is tiring. There are rock steps carved in stone. On top there is a shiva temple, few caves, water cisterns. There is drinkable water in one of the cistern. The view is breathtaking on top of the fort.

Moderately difficult trek at the top. But overall a challenging trek for beginners. Yes they can do it for sure. Takes 2 hours 30 minutes to the top and 1 hour 30 minutes for the descent. Definitely do it during the monsoon season.

A moderate trek and the view from the top is amazing. The steps in the khind makes you wander how they must have been build. There is Kedrareshwar mandir at the top with a lake. Just behind the temple the sun rises in the the morning and the view is mesmerising also it gives you the glimpse of the other forts present over there. Be aware of snakes though if you are trekking in the night. If you’re a regular trekker you can even visit Sudhagad which 30mins road from Sarasgad fort base. Doing both the treks in a single day is possible...please give it a try.
