Malkajgiri railway station is a very old station on the Secunderabad - Nizamabad line. The route was once the old metre guage line which ran from Aurangabad to Tirupati. The Secunderabad Aurangabad section was one of the last to be converted into Broad guage, and now it's being electrified too... This station has many passenger amenities like computerised reservation, waiting rooms, covered areas on platforms, a PA system, drinking water etc. Now trains travelling to Bombay, Jaipur and many other major destinations halt here increasing passenger convenience. It is one of the few stations to maintain trees and gardens on its platforms...
