Tl;DR: It felt home \u003c3 We had a delightful 2 night stay at Kalta Homestay. While planning this mini trip we had wished for a serene location away from the hustle bustle of popular tourist locations like Shimla and that is exactly what we got at the homestay. Once I reached the destination village Brall, the thing that surprised me the most was just how peaceful this location was. No traffic, zilch pollution; all I could listen to was the sound of wind and bird chirpings. While the home itself is extremely beautiful and spectacularly clean, with modern amenities and intricate wood work in all rooms, what adds life to the home is Mr. Ashish's lovely family. We were welcomed with open hearts, served delicious home-cooked food and never-ending cups of aromatic tea. The conversations with the host family while having meals is something to be cherished. The home overlooks distant green hills which makes for a pleasant view especially from the mini library on the top floor. Apple orchards and other fruit trees surround the home. Go there if you are looking for a place which fulfills the checklist of a homestay in its true spirit. Go there if you want peace, love and warmth. Go there if you want a home away from home in the hills.
We had a very warm welcome at Kalta Homestay, with Ashish and his parents being the most kind and friendly hosts we could expect. The bungalow itself is an architectural wonder, with stunning views all around, and of course surrounded by stunning apple orchards. Our stay was very comfortable with first-class home-cooked meals. Ashish also left us with a bag full of deliciously juicy golden apples. Overall, we had a very memorable trip.
The Kalta Homestay in Brall is a calm, offbeat destination away from all the chaos. The homestay is located right in the middle of an apple orchid facing an endless and breathtakingly beautiful valley. The place is a work of art, amongst others the custom made false wooden ceiling designed by the owner Ashish stands out. We had the luxury of enjoying two different cuisines during our stay. Ashish’s wife Kunzes cooks delicious Ladhaki food (Ladhaki mutton deserves a special mention), while his mother is a master of the local Himachali cuisine. We spent most of our time admiring the valley and exploring the village. To add a bit of adventure to our trip we headed out for the Giri Ganga Trek. Ashish guided us on a secluded path along the river. This is one place which will remain etched in my mind forever. Thank you, Ashish and Kunzes for hosting us! I will definitely visit the place again soon :)

Mesmerising. Perfect host & with blessed location. Had a truly amazing experience here. The property is so beautiful with exquisite decor. The place itself is so soothing you don't need to go out anywhere if you love nature and are looking to relax. We enjoyed the delicious home cooked food, and the warm hospitality of Ashish,his lovely wife and his parents who treated us like family. We will cherish the beautiful memories of this place. Ashish's mother took care of us at every movement just like her personal guests . All in all a very warm and wonderful experience.
