Approx time to spent - 30 - 45 min View of mountains from monastery is beautiful.wall paintngs inside monastery is mind-blowing.This place is so peaceful,serene. Good place to visit in case you are taking this route to Darjeeling

Very nice Monistry. When u go for Darjeeling at that u can spent some time at this beautiful place. A peaceful place for ever. If u r a biker then u can put ur bike at nearest Petrol Pump in free of cost.
It is the beautiful monastery in Sonada locally known as Sonada Goumba. Official named as Samdrup Darjay Choling Monastery, this is Shangpa Kagyu Lineage, founded by his eminence Dorje Chang Kabje Kalu Rinpoche, who was born in Tibet but in 1993 he was enthroned in this Monastery. The monastry has been rebuilt and new buildings have been constructed. It also serves the local community as all auspicious occasions like marriages are also held in the hall of Goumba.
Travellers must have a stop for an hour if you are traveling from Siliguri to Darjeeling. A peaceful quick get away that rejuvenates your spiritual dose. It good idea to start the journey from Sonada monastery when you are exploring towards Queen of Hills.
Peaceful And Beautiful. Had A Good Time While Visiting This Monastery. I visited this monastery in the morning in the months of March.It was bit chilly. Many old grandpa's come here for jogging and morning prayer.

Very nice and serene monastery on the outskirts of Darjeeling. Located on the highway perched atop a small hillock. Good architecture and a lovely Buddha statue.
Its one of the oldest and best temple in india .it is a place not only for religious minded person but also for those interested in architecture.
