The Steel Fabrication Unit is the pioneer unit of SILK commenced its commercial production in 1980. The unit is located on Cochin – Trivandrum National Highway; nearest airport and container terminal are Cochin. The Unit has executed many structural & civil contracts including •\tBuildings and structurals, •\tStorage tanks, Silos, transformer tanks •\tPressure vessels, and boiler parts •\tTransmission towers & sub-station structures •\tMaterial handling equipments •\tMS fabricated, mineral separation, cement and steel plant equipments •\tFabrication and Erection of Piping. •\tAirport Hangars.

The most important thing I noticed was the nice behaviour of Management and workers. Workers especially three Sr fitters Mr. Xaviour, Sasi and all workers behaviour are so grateful. I liked the General Manager, human Relations, Marketing, storage department personals. I did not get such a welcome before. Totally thanks to the all management for such a nice experience in Steel fabrication unit. Steel fabrication works of many giant works such as tanks, ship building fabrications etc are running continuosly But my experience in AutoKast near was so worse.
