The oldest tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesg. An amazing forest reserve amidst the Satpura mountain range. Having a vast variety of flora and fauna along with wildlife comprising of Blue bull(Neel gai), giant Malabar squirrel, barahsingh, crocodiles, spotted deer, sambhar, stags etc. The terrain in mixed with mountainous regions and plain including places with river, streams and river banks. Best time to visit winters as it's closed during the monsoon season. The Safari rates vary according to the routes that they take, make sure which one you book as there are different rates for routes inside the forest.

It is one of the National Parks with about 43 Royal Bengal Tigers. There are jungle Safaris available in morning 0630 to 1100 & evening slots 1500 to 1730 hrs. Safari permit can be pre-booked from forest.mponline.gov.in Safari Can be done through Gypsy and you not allowed to get down from it. The forest is dense and you can easily spot Deer, Sambhar, Cheetal, Antelopes, peacocks and birds . Tigers are spotted rarely, chances of spotting a tiger are high in the morning and in summers. Satpura Tiger offers excellent experience of a forest. Must visit.

If you're expecting to see predators, you will be disappointed. Anytime you visit, the guides will claim to have seen a predator just before you set your foot in the forest. In that sense, the hospitality here is great because everyone makes you feel like a lion, fearing which all the animals have fled for their lives, including the tiger. Spotting a tiger here is like spotting Achhe Din. Does not exist. However, the reserve is scenic. The resorts are good. Food is generally of mediocre quality.

The Satpura Tiger reserve is very nice and exotic. You can view many wild animals in their natural aura. A good place to visit with your family and friends. The probability that you will see a tiger is very less as there are not many tigers in this reserve. Yet it is a very beautiful experience and then you must visit it if you are touring Madhya Pradesh.
