In 1935 stone was laid for the construction of the building by sri Ramavarma Thampuran Maharaja of cochin and opened in the year 1938 by sri Shanmukham Chetty Divan of cochin named as King George V Silver Jubilee Hall. Now the Town Hall is in memory of Sri K Karunakaran and named K Karunakaran Smaraka Town Hall Thrissur. Amazing architecture in Victoria Style. The hall was constructed in the middle leaving more area in sides and front side. The place situated at Palace Road Trichur .The Public Library, spacious car parking and a very large Auditorium with wooden benches with back rest seating are the specialities. A very beautiful Town Hall with garden also.
