I don't think I need to describe about this place here. There is no wonder that this is the cleanest river of india. River bed is as clear as if there is nothing there. It has a beautiful suspension bridge. Boats prices are about Rs. 800 (Might go up to 1200 in peak season) for a 3-4 seater boat. I would suggest to go to Shnongpdeng rather than this boating point as it the widely known one and is very crowded. "Shnongpdeng is much lesser known and water is much more cleaner as it lies a bit upstream from this one. There are hardly any people there and you can experience the true beauty of Umngot river. Price will be 50% as well" - A Dawki Local

The place lies in between India and Bangladesh. The water is really clear and you can also water bed. But we humans have a really bad habit of throwing our own wastes. The river is becoming so dirty and it's not clear anymore. I request everyone visiting the place not to throw any plastic or anything in the water. Save it for the future generations. The upper part of the river is more clearer and more cooler as well. Its a beautiful place and should be visited at least once in a lifetime. Just don't loiter your waste and enjoy the nature

Boating in Dawki river is a must for all those who visit Meghalaya. Rs700 is charged for 45 minutes boating. For those coming from Shillong, some people will try to stop you before crossing Dawki bridge and offer you boat ride from there.Charges are higher there so better to cross the Dawki bridge and then book a boat ride at this point. The best part is that you can also meet Bangladeshi citizens at this point. BSF guards are stationed there but they allow the two countries citizens to interact. The boat ride will take you to a bit ahead of Dawki bridge where you can get off the boat and click some snaps.Overall it was a wonderful experience for me.

The place is amazing. However, in order to see clear waters, you need to head there in the winters or non monsoon season. Absolutely sublime beauty with crystal clear waters and a delightful boat ride in the lake that make it a fantastic day trip for the entire family. It is must visited place near shillong. Water is so clean so that you can see the what is under water. You need to start near from Zero point, that is India and Bangladesh boarder. You can hire a boat to take pleasant trip on Dwaki river. Thank you . . . .

Dawki is a small border town along the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya. Close to the cleanest village of Asia-Mawlynnong it is a lovely fairyland enclosed within. the magic truly lies in gorgeous river that flows out here. popularly known as Dawki river, its actual name is Umngot River. the river is where the fairyland lies. The Umngot river is considered as one of the cleanest rivers in India as well as a stunning one. A natural divine between Jhantia and Khasi hills, this river flows into Bangladesh through Dawki. The water of the river is so clear that the boats floating on it, look as if they are on a crystal glass surface.
