One of the nearest Forts from Mumbai. The fort is quite Big, in terms of area. There are many different complexes inside the fort, still in good condition. The fort walls are in good shape. We can climb on top of the wall and have a walk all around. Easy to locate. It is very good place to visit. Specially children should visit Forts, they can learn a lot.

Very Big and ancient fort... Nice architecture... though some things are destroyed in time but the place is worth visiting... Ruled my many great conquerers... One can get 113 number bus from Vasai station which will leave you till gate and cost 17. Also seat autos are available... Fort is very big so takes time... Also if time permits , Vasai beach is near takes 20-25 per seat from Vasai fort... Take your own food and water

I didn't expect this place to be this well maintained and clean. This being a Portuguese era fort could have deteriorated to a druggie zone, but it seems that the authorities have maintained it well. There is outgrowth of creepers and other shrubs here but that is anyway acceptable in an historical place. There was only a spot that has a lover's graffiti and the rest of the place was devoid of it. The walls and the columns of the fort are quite intact considering the age and give an indication of the actual place in times bygone. This place should be more famous than what it is currently. Try going early in the morning as that will give you a good sunlight for photos as well as you will avoid the crowds.

It's a beautiful abandoned Portuguese fort, one will get the feel of goan essence, nice place for one day picnic with family and friends. Lot of hide out places too for couples . This place has too many stories to tell, I wonder what it would have looked in its full glory. Overall a good place to hang out.

I had visited this place so many times. The evening time is mesmerizing. A good camera can give you awesome surrounding beauties. In group or few like minded individuals can throughly enjoy the scenic beauty of this well preserved monuments. Many films are shot and this place is also an ideal location for pre and post wedding shoot.
