The limestone caves in Baratang Island are really beautiful and it was special for me because it was the first time I saw caves. You can spend hours looking at the strange formations on the cave walls made by the lime stone over the ages. The caves are really huge and you should plan like an hour to explore the place. We booked a package tour with Andaman Emerald Holidays and went to the island on a day trip. The mud volcano is also amazing and quite a marvel of nature.

From here you can visit lime caves by private speed boats.for the same you should reach here before 1.00 P.M. because we have to get permit from forest department which is given from 6.30 AM to 1.00 PM only. So, catch government bus departing from mohanpura bus terminus Port Blair around 4.15A.M. for Kadamtala and reach around 8.00 AM thereafter after getting permit leave around 9.00 AM and you can return at 12.00 PM. thereafter you can catch government bus coming from rangat here around between 12.30 to 1.00 PM for Port Blair. Bus fair Rs.120.00 per person and RS.60.00 for senior citizens. Government buses are best option for budget travellers. Total cost Rs.130.00 RS. 110.00 700.00 boat charges 940.00 . Private tour operators charges around RS.1800.00 per person. If you found my review helpful than press on like button.
