I love this place. Railway station that has no connectivity except rail. Means no road connected, and even walking to station is treacherous. Ambience is awesome. One can live here in railway accommodation, presently closed because of Corona. Live minimalist life for few days, and Enjoy. Very simple food available in plenty, locally grown fruits r a must, and Tea stalls r unique in location, simplicity, and simple snacks. Wow.

A quaint little railway station with officially the longest halt on the Kalka-Shimla Railway route, Barog is a lovely station. It is right next to the legendary Barog tunnel which is the longest of the 100 odd tunnels on the route. It is a very beautiful location and from Barog onwards, the journey becomes really scenic as the true mountain vibes are experienced from here to Shimla.

This station has a very interesting story to tell in itself. Barog Tunnel which is just at the start of the station is a haunted place.
