Firstly ,this garden is mainly for study of university's students . So don't go there for photoshoot or any similar pursuits. But yeah if you wanna to enjoy the lapse of nature you can visit there and watch different kinds of as well as colorful plants.

The origin of modern botanical gardens is generally traced to the appointment of professors of botany to the medical faculties of universities in 16th century Renaissance Italy, which also entailed the curation of a medicinal garden. Botanical garden is a garden dedicated to the collection, cultivation, preservation and display of a wide range of plants labelled with their botanical names. It may contain specialist plant collections such as cacti and other succulent plants, herb gardens, plants from particular parts of the world, and so on; there may be greenhouses, shadehouses, again with special collections such as tropical plants, alpine plants, or other exotic plants. The punjabi university botanical garden is named after famous Professor Emritus Dr S. S. Bir, (who happens to be my uncle) , and my dad's, colleague, (Dr C. S. Khurana) 'who was eminent Nuclear physics scientists,) this is very well maintained garden, one of the best in India, with diverse collection of all the types of plants.

This place comes under Punjabi University situated in Patiala District of India. This is very well planned and managed by University. Good place to visit. Calm atmosphere.

This is basically botanical garden of Punjabi University. Well managed place to carry research and extension activities for Botany department of the University. Its very bid and having number of plant species there. Sometime other department students also visited for their research.

Very well maintained botanical garden but was not able to see fully as the guard on duty asked for permission from Head of Botany department. So please take prior permission.
