The Centre for Equity and Quality in Universal Education (CEQUE) is a non-profit organization working to invigorate teaching practices so that learning becomes meaningful for every child in Indian schools. We respond to the crisis of poor learning and instructional quality affecting the majority of Indian schools today. Poor school quality is, undoubtedly, a result of complex institutional and social factors. But an overriding challenge is one of motivation and belief, within and outside failing educational institutions, that real improvement is indeed possible on scale. Even where an impetus for change exists, there is often a compelling need for imagination, fresh ideas and knowhow to realize the envisioned change.
