The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation was certified by the United Nations in 2011 as the first metro rail and rail-based system in the world to get \carbon credits for reducing greenhouse gas emissions\ and helping in reducing pollution levels in the city by 630,000 tonnes every year. History was created and today delhi depends on it to commute , apart from pollution it reduces time as well as cost to commute.

DMRC a joint Venture of Government of India and Government of Delhi was the largest Metro successfully commissioned. Contributed much to reduce traffic jam and pollution due to reduced vehicles and fuel consumption. Keeping the public transportation culture of cosmopolitan city with cleanliness it was efficiently managed giving priority to punctuality, safety and security of commuters. Although there were criticism regarding environmental balance , after the implementation its value was much appreciated because of its usefulness.
