Callous attitude and negligent behaviour of Dr. ( Brig.) Ajay Sharma cost me life of my son, Shubham Narula who was 22 years old.My son underwent the treatment for Non- Hodgkin's lymphoma which is a most common kind of cancer and mostly non-fatal, but this Doctor made it excruciatingly painful and fatal for my son. Initially after 6 chemos his disease underwent remission but relapsed within a months time and was diagnosed with 17p deletion. It was his indecisiveness that led to relapse as he couldn't take decision on whether a maintenance dose was required or not; rather kept on pushing the responsibility on his team.After relapse , he kept us in dark about my son's actual condition and the treatment given. He not even once mentioned that whatever treatment he was giving was more of a hit and trial and not sure shot or a well researched treatment. The disease got aggravated post relapse due to chromosomal mutation and he never told us what it means and that allopathy doesn't have any cure for the same. He started with second line of treatment which is universal in nature but usually doesn't work in the case of 17 p deletion. It just caused more pain to my son rather than bringing any positive affect to his disease. To me as a doctor he is a failed professional who cannot uphold the respect associated with the medical profession and being a specialist of such a disease which is often seen synonymous to an unwarranted end. He lacks adeptness, conscientiousness and empathy for his patients which is required in such cases , rather he has a lax attitude and doesn't care much about the consequences. I would just request everyone to be more thoughtful while selecting him as a doctor for yourself or your loved ones. At last, I wish nobody has to go through such harrowing experience of this disease and associated treatment complexities. May all be blessed with good health.
