Good work done by government by generating clean energy through such hydroelectric power plant. Dam is to store water which is supplied to Bombay. Other use is that by water falling from the dam turbine is rotated and thus electric is generated. But unfortunately such hydroelectric power plant are very few. India is largely dependent on thermal electric plant which are run by burning coal and it is costly and polluting too.
