Idex is a very good, professional and honest organization. I love the variety of programs they offer. The best part is that they have a very safe and happy environment in all their programs, camps and tours. The staff is very helpful too. You can plan your volunteering with Idex and you won't be disappointed.

I was volunteering in Sri Lanka for one month in a turtle conservation project with Idex, and I am disappointed about it. We had to deal with the horrible reality that the owners did not in fact see it as a conservation project at all, but rather a turtle farm or zoo, where people pay to touch turtles in very small tanks for a long time. There was no work to do and I felt useless for those 4 weeks, they don't need the help of volunteers, cause they're sleeping or sitting around the whole day as well. As a company, you either need to take a serious look at the ethics of the projects you offer, or just stop labelling these holidays as volunteering projects. Anyone with past volunteering experience, will tell you that as a volunteer, our priorities are, to do impactful work, to make a positiv difference, and to help. You offer none of these, leaving volunteers feeling unhappy, unsatisfied and useless. As for myself I'm shocked at your practises and I would never in a million years recommend you as a company to anyone.
