Must Stay! It's a little Paradise here. It's a cottage that's located on this little secluded plot of land that you need to take a short boat ride to get to. My boyfriend and I have been traveling India now for 2 weeks and it is one of our favorite places we stayed. The owners take great pride in what they are doing. This was our experience: -they made us fresh herbal tea from the plants on their property -gave us a lesson on all the different plants and what they could be used for (probably one of the things that I enjoyed the most ) -there was a raft we took to tour their private waters -one of their staff took us out onto the lake in their boat to watch the sunset (for a tiny cost - totally worth it) -they made us breakfast and dinner (minimal cost and well worth it. The host was an INCREDIBLE chef. She made us 2 types of fresh fish, one of these fish was bred in their property) (I can pronounce her name but probably couldn't spell it properly.. So sorry ️) -their place is super clean and they have a UV water filter system in place so you could have fresh water Definitely a must stay. My boyfriend gives his stay a 5/5 too!

Located centrally between kochi and Alleppey, the island is a little piece of heaven on earth, surrounded by river running into the backwaters. I haven't spotted as many birds anywhere than here. If you are looking for a spot away from all the city noise, this is the perfect place to chill. Cool breeze, the green vegetation all around, the starry night view from deck make your stay memorable, wanting you to stay here for longer, along with some great home cooked food.
This place is awesome, in the true sense. This is the ultimate antidote to commercial holiday experiences. If you book this you get to live on a private backwater island in a self contained shack-like house. Your hosts take you on a small boat trip to get there which is all part of the enjoyment. The interiors are very comfortable. It's a modern but simple styling, pretty chic but not out of place. The bedroom is very comfortable with a four-poster with a sheer decorative but practical net wrapped around it. You have great views of your own private backwater (which you can use their inflatable dinghy on - great fun!), and step onto the balcony if you wish. I think you can arrange a longer backwater canoe journey if you stay long enough. The main living/kitchen area is well equipped, and you can enjoy a floodlit view at night of your island surroundings. The porch/veranda is also an ideal place to chill/relax, also the roof terrace is also a great spot for the sunset/birdwatching. Our hosts were genuine and warm, they were relatives of the owner who we did not meet in person. You can tell this is is a passion project and not just a great business idea. (It is that too) As the location is quite remote it's recommended you stay there and use this as a retreat, to slow the pace down and appreciate the beautiful surroundings/read a book or two. Stepping out to try and find a restaurant would defeat the point of staying here so much better to eat the home cooked food provided by hosts. This is very local and fresh fish and certainly the best fish of our stay. Dal/Chapati is also served and I'm sure vegetarians are catered for. (You can just ask). This is priced fairly considering the experience your tastebuds receive. You can order breakfast too for a charge, but we only stayed for one night so we decided to sample food en route. I would recommend more than a night however as we left wanting more.
