A must visit homely restaurant. Delicious... Lunch with motherly affection. Lake fish, prawn, crab, small river fish, karimeen. Boating facilities, meeting facilities and eating facilities

The food was good, fresh fishes and all, nice ambience. Its better to go there after 5:00PM so that the sunbeam will be less and the temperature will also reduce and you can see a beautiful sunset too. The staff are also cooperative. And you can eat outdoors too beside the backwater.

36 km from Trivandrum and around 10 km from Varkala. The coastal road from kazhakuttam till Varkala has lot of good , small eateries, one being this restaurant. Situated on the banks of lake it gives you a good view. The standard meals here cost 150 which would include a fresh water fish fry and prawns theeyal along with tapioca. The rest of the items would be the kichadi, avial and pickle along with pappadam, parippu and sambar along with karingali water. You can get extra fish like karimeen as well.Ambience and cleanliness is fine. Don't expect a temperature check and others related to covid. There are 6 tables altogether with 4 chairs each. It's a better idea to call and book your lunch in advance. Staff is very helpful. The road towards the restaurant is a bit narrow. But there is parking space for around 15 cars.The boating is to a nearby island which is having a temple(ponnum thuruthu). 500 per trip to and fro is the charges. Don't expect any life jacket. We saw some other people also providing boating services near the bridge. They also have an open waiting space outside where we saw a couple cutting cake to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Nearest ATM is at the Anchuthengu junction. Anchuthengu fort is 7 Kms from here.

A must place to visit if you need a traditional homely food including 4 or more non veg dishes along with the delicious kerala meals.The ambience itself is enough to make you content with a beautiful waterbody on sight... also for more fun , you can hire a houseboat from there and have a trip through the exquisite views from the lake...

Homely meals with Kappa, fish curry and fish fry served in meals. Karimeen fry, kakka roast was excellent. Lake ambience makes for a wonderful lunch. Boating is also available. While it closes at 3, if requested they'll extend it for your convenience. Looking forward to visiting again

Visited this restaurant today with wife.Nice ambience facing kayal .Had very homely food with special karimeen fry.boating was very much enjoyable.Entire staff was very polite to welcome the tourists.Altogether good experience
