Dr Upal Sengupta, Kolkata'sbest renal transplantation specialist, a very polite, sensible and supportive doctor, who helped in very crucial phases of my life as my father-in-law had under gone renal transplantation couple of year ago and since then he is providing his support and guidance to us. He is such a kind and caring doctor that he is always available over phone 24x7 to advice any kind of health issues related to my father-in-law. We are really very much satisfied with his treatment procedure.

My uncle had to go for a Gallstones operation at the age of 82years and just after the operation the doctors noticed chronic renal failure and adviced Dialysis for rest of his life. We consulted Dr Sengupta for his advice and after a few months treatment we noticed improvement in my uncle's physical condition and now he is living without dialysis. In my opinion, Dr Upal Sengupta is one of the best dialysis specialists near me.

I did take a family member to see him quite recently for a minor ailment and was treated quite kindly. But my observation about the other reviews is that it is not a good sign when Fortis responds to every good review with a prompt thanks, but does not respond to any negative review. They should be addressing all negative reviews quite transparently.

I've never had the experience of meeting a Nephrologist before also I'm not a doctor btw... knowledge I can't judge but all I can do is compare services offered and treatment differences...First time I met this doctor...my father was on wheel chair.... doctor gave him 'bombastic' tests that were to come after 7 or more days, required 14900 rupees...sooner after my father lost his mobility and got bedridden and was admitted under him...the 'bombastic' reports had not arrived (most of them yet now)...under him treatment was 'dialysis', twice and diagnosed kidney failure...patient condition worsened..,I had to rush south with my father...the nephrologists here asked me why he had been given dialysis...the put two stents in his kidneys and saved both of them....for almost a week now he did not require any dialysis and his kidney conditions are improving...doctors here wanted his number to ask him what treatment was done on the patient and the number I did not have! Very unfortunate that we boast of the medical capabilities of kolkata...and such doctors!
