Not sure about their development activities but this open place is a wonderful thing of its own. They would clean it up time to time and then leave it for vegetation to regrow. When the vegetation regrows then it becomes a self contained eco-system on its own. It's like a forest within city. It would have fox, snakes, mongoose, variety of birds and what not. When they clean it occasionally, it becomes a very sad state situation as all the wilderness would have nowhere to go and the snakes and mongeese would wander in the adjacent buildings and roads. Jan 2019 : Rare sighting of a fox. Have only heard them before, never seen it. Fox generally do not come close to Humans Feb 2019 : Walls broken down to make way for gates. Entire park cleared for Kolkata book fair Parking lot.
