This is the checkpost in Tamilnadu border runned by Tamilnadu government. We have travelled in the lockdown season and as usual they collect all the details of passengers and vehicles before entry permits. We have not faced any difficulties here and am not sure of everyone will have the same experience. It depends on the officers.

Malakhappara is a small hill station and tourist destination, being a border place in the Thrissur district, state of Kerala. Those who like forest and ride's, this is a best place. The area consists of the tea estate owned by Tata Tea, forest area of Kerala Forest Department belonging to both Vazhachal Forest Division and Malayattur Forest Division. Many endangered and endemic species of flora and fauna are found in the forests of Malakkappara area. There is 86 km distance from Chalakudy along the State Highway 21 via Thumboormuzhi, Athirappilly, Vazhachal, Sholayar etc Tips. After vazhachal check post cannot carry plastic bottles. Alcohol prohibited area After 5 pm can't allow through the route

Awesome Forest,,,Early morning around 6 am when check post opens,,is the best time to pass by forest. Animals will be there so go slow...And carefully drive .We saw elephants in just 100 meters away..It was in hills , sometimes they may be in roads. Also be careful for leeches . Feeding, eating, plastics are not allowed.Enjoy but don't destroy forest, don't make loud noise there,it's best to go there alone and feel the sound of forest .All you can grab full energy from there.you will be fresh after the journey.
