An ancient church with a lot of history. The parking is down the hill. The ancient church was built around 900 AD. Wikipedia states that 'It was attacked by tuskers in the past when it used to be surrounded by thick jungle. Deep tusk marks can still be found on the back wall of the chapel.' It is believed that St Thomas visited here and remained in prayer. He drew a cross on the rock and later it turned to be golden in color. And hence the song people sing while climbing ht hill. The view from the top is very good as well. The well and the water in it is considered to be divine as well. Very crowded on seasonal days

Oldest Church atop Malayatoor Hill is built around 700AD. The church is renovated with the Eastern side wall still preserved in its pristine condition. The church gets it's famous name from the Eastern wall which was supposed to be stabbed by Wild Elephants. The marks can be still be viewed on the walls. The church has a calm and serene atmosphere, makes this place perfect for meditation. Totally worth a visit.
