There are 6 Ramsar sites in punjab so far namely harike, kanjali, Ropar, nangal, keshopur miani and beas conservation. Earliest is harike wetland or harike Pattan. It is a wetland and a great place for migratory birds. Birds from coldest regions of the world come here every year in winters. We can see many species of birds here. It's a great tourist attraction. Winter migratory water birds using the central Asian flyway have started making a beeline to Punjab’s Harike wetland, offering a delight for bird lovers. Over the years, the number of certain species has been falling. Some bird enthusiasts and experts are of the view that the trend is not just limited to the Harike wetland, but could be witnessed across the county and even beyond. The key reasons they attribute for the drop is increased human interference in their breeding regions, climate change and rising air and water pollution.

This is one of the most underrated places in punjab. Please go visit this treasure and keep the area clean, green and the water blue. Beautiful view and great for bird watching. Do checkin with the wild life department to get permit to enter. But a must see site and the drive though the wetlands is beautiful and a great spot to go and see. Just make sure not to throw your trash everywhere. This is one of the cleanest spots I have seen in punjab so far. The observation towers are a beautiful touch and are great for taking photographs.

So very beautiful and picturesque that only eyes can witness that and words can't describe them and wisdom can't understand that words. It is worth watching and experiencing. Punjab Government should develop this as one of the tourist spot for the nature lovers and bird watchers. The arrangements here are not up to the mark and not at all maintained. This is the reason only four stars are awarded to the place that deserves more than five star ratings. So very peaceful, serene and breathtaking views which we often try to get in the locations outside India. Wonderful. Must visit for all around Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ferozepur districts.
