First of all, it's not a tourist place. It's a typical picnic spot. Dam is very very dangerous ( there is not any barrier at the edges). If you looking to go there, it is completely unsafe for children. If you are going with whole family plan for picnic and avoid going upon the dam. Nearby area is good for picnic. Go and have some fun.
Mandal Dam also known as Kutku Dam, It is probably the highest constructed dam in Jharkhand about (222'40'ft) in height and the length is about (280 metres) width about (60 metres). It's a very Beautiful, Magnificent and Amazing Dam located in the midst of North koel River. It's mesmerizing view will refresh your mood. It will blow your mind it's very amazing. The view from up is Mesmerizing and you will definitely get peace when you come here Everywhere is greenery. The scenario is just wow It's a hydroelectric power project which started in1973 but till date it's not yet completed. The purpose of making this dam was such that it would provide irrigation to 300,000 acres of land, the farmers of Garhwa, Palamu, Aurangabad and the regions of South Bihar would be benefited from this project. Since it's lies in the naxalites area the road reaching through here is not good at all it's very dangerous road. No proper roads has been built by the government. Basic amenities lack here. So it's better to return before the sunset.
