This is a historical place with several folk tale of how a warrior cut the huge stone in a single stroke with his sword for love and bravery!! This place is good to go but may not be satisfactory if you are looking for facilities to chill. This is best place for people who like nature and beautiful natural views from the hill.

Veer Lorik Stone (Patthar) is around 5 km distance from Robertsganj at Markundi near Eco point besides Varanasi – Shaktinagar Road. One Spiritual love story of Veer Lorik and Manjari. The mystery behind this Veer Lorik Stone is , There was a state called Agori at riverside of son River in Satyug. Now it is in the Sonbhadra district. Molagat was the name of the king of the state. Molagat was a very good king but he was jealous of a Yadav man named Mehra because he was powerful. One day King Molagat invited Mehra for a gambling match. It was proposed that the winner of the gambling game will rule on the state. Mehra accepted the king's proposal. They began gambling. King had hoped that he would win, but he did not. The king lost everything and had to leave his kingdom. Seeing the plight of the king Lord Brahma came as a disguised monk and gave him some coins, he said that once you play a game with these coins your rule will return. The King did the same. This time seems Mehra lost. He lost six times and had nothing left to lose, including his wife. But his wife was pregnant. And the seventh time he has lost his wife's womb as well. It was all very strange but Mehra had to accept. But the king seemed to show generosity towards Mehra. He said that if the upcoming baby is a boy then he will work in the stables and if the upcoming baby is girl then she will be appointed in the service of the Queen.

Great view of the Valery from this place, also has lots of sitting area. The stone itself is not so majestic but the story of veer Lorik from the fork lore written on the board is worth a read.
