Must visit museum and art gallery in mumbai. Very good landscaping and sitting area. All antiques used by kings are exhibited here which reflects the Indian history and culture. Also Indus valley civilization artefacts are displayed here. Audio tours will help you in getting good information throughout the tour.

It was wondering place of where you have to see our great indian culture.Great place with plenty of amazing artifacts. Could spend the entire day here and still wouldn't be able to appreciate everything this place has to offer. Paintings exhibition was especially to my liking. Offers available for college students so a good place to come with your friends if you're a college student. Sculptures, ornaments, weapons all were amazing and good info provided through cheap audio guides. Special activities like creating your own drawings in the paintings exhibition is available along with other fun activities.

Considered one of the finest museums in India and renowned for its superb sculptures and miniature paintings, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya boasts a rare collection of over 60,000 art objects. Housed in an iconic Indo-Saracenic building with a grand central dome and intricate detailing, the museum was designed by George Wittet. Its foundation stone was laid by the Prince of Wales (the future George V) in 1905

Excellent Museum. Very well presented, annotated and maintained exhibits. Audio tours are worth while for the added insight they provide. Just a note of caution, the inhouse canteen is best avoided.

Beautiful Experience You sure can’t compare Bombay’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya to the museums of the west but it still is one of the best in India. Fondly still known as the Prince Of Wales Museum by the old residents of Bombay it holds some of the most beautiful artifacts from India. They have designated sections as all museums do and they have a gallery for visiting museums so if you are lucky you may get to see a mummy form Egypt of the Terracotta Soldiers or the Persian Cyrus cylinder. Under the guidance of the new management there is always something new happening and even as a regular visitor I am most excitedly waiting for a new exhibit. They have a lovely museum shop too which sells perfect gifts / give aways. You could spend a full day leisurely there. Wishing the CSMVS team super luck. It has been renamed after Shivaji Maharaj now and seems to be renovated too. It was a great experience visiting this museum with family. It is a visual delight for kids in the section where they have replicas of animals, birds, reptiles, sea creatures... Must visit with family ! Fantastic Architecture and Museum Prince of Wales Museum has the most diverse exhibits ranging from taxidermy to Indian sculptures to those from far east. Exhibit on Textiles of India is impressive and informative. The Museum has a small cafe where you can buy some small eats and drink. It will take 2-3 hours of visit time. The fees for foriegners is INR 500 and 70 INR for India. Audio guide is available in 7 languages. There is an excellent museum shop to buy souveniers.
