It's one of the most famous pilgrimage places in India. And it's devoted to Our Lady of Health of Velankani. The area is beautiful and the churches are lovely. It is said that if you make a petition, you wishes will come true. People from all over India and the world visit it for their faith. It's near Marina Beach and the weather is pleasant all throughout the year. You can also attend mass over here and hear the sermon, which is in English or other regional languages.

It's a well managed place with water supply and toilets in and around the church. The parking area needs to be kept clean and if sheds provided it would be great(it's very hot) and water supply also given. People should not be allowed to eat there.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health, also known as Sanctuary of Our Lady of Vailankanni, is a Marian shrine located at the small town of Velankanni in Tamil Nadu, South India. The Roman Catholic Latin Rite Basilica is dedicated to Our Lady of Good Health. Devotion to Our Lady of Good Health of Velankanni can be traced back to the mid-16th century, and is attributed to three separate miracles at the sites surrounding the Basilica: The apparition of Blessed Mary and the Christ Child to a slumbering shepherd boy, the healing of a handicapped buttermilk vendor, and the rescue of Portuguese sailors from a deadly sea storm. These accounts are mere oral lore with no written record or attested sources to support them.

The church has an amazing ambience and masses are conducted most of the time , so hard to miss that. The masses are conducted in multiple languages too. Visit if your in the area, prayers fo come true here. There are multiple ways to off offering and prayers, so if you are in need of that you can find it here. The church has an amazing architecture, its an amazing site to enjoy. A beautiful church, that brings miracles to life.

Holy pilgrimage place in India. This place is very holy and divine and it is said that if u pray for a wish in this cathedral then your wish will be granted and every good will happen to you. This place gives you such a positivity and peace of mind. There are couple of churches here and every church is a masterpiece and has its own history. The holy water from velankkani has its own history and its said that it is the purest form of water with some minerals. There is a huge bus stand and railway station here, so the transportation is made very easy for the tourist and pilgrims. They provide enormous amount of parking space for vehicles. there are lots of shops available here. There is play area for kids and there are parks which are maintained very well. you can see ducks and turkeys. Note: there is a hidden beach in velankkani. IF u walk along the shore of the beach you will see pine fore and that beach will be all alone. you can spend some time very calm and with some peace of mind away from crowd. Turn right side from the beach shore and walk for about 2kms.

Beautiful place with good architecture. There is definitely few good vibes when u step in. Must visit place. Its very close to beach, and you can have good time. Recommend to visit after summer.
