The Kangra Fort was built by the royal Rajput family of Kangra State (the Katoch dynasty), which traces its mythological origins to the ancient Trigarta Kingdom, mentioned in the Mahabharata epic.
The place where u can sense your own soul....and dhauladhar range of mountains describes your inner emotions loved this place...
about About 40 km from Palampur, 21 km from Dharamsala and 45 km from Pragpur, Kangra Nagarkot Fort lies on the outskirts of Kangra town. The fort withstood invaders from Mahmud of Ghazni to Jehangir, became a Mughal outpost and was ultimately taken by the British in 1846. Much of it was destroyed during the 1905 earthquake. The views from the ramparts are magnificent and a few simple shrines are still in use. The small museum here has stone carvings from temples inside the fort and miniature paintings from the Kangra School. address & contact Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh, India good for History Buffs Photo Fanatics timings All days of the week 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM visit duration 1 to 2 hours entry fee 5 per person for Indians 100 per person for Foreigners
